About Us
CASA is an acronym for Christians Against Substance Abuse/Sexual Addiction. It is a nation-wide addiction-recovery program used in at least 110 churches and more than 50 correctional institutions. The Bible is the basic text used by CASA. Members of CASA turn to God as defined in the scriptures and His Son, Jesus Christ, for guidance and grace. CASA was founded in 1988 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

“An addiction is widely recognized as an individual becoming psychologically and/or physiologically dependent on a substance, behavior or pattern of thinking.
From a Christian standpoint, an addiction is also a form of idolatry because something other than God becomes number one in an individual’s life. An addiction controls the mind of addicted individuals; it is where they put their faith; it is where they turn when the chips are down. This puts them at odds with the First Commandment, “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20: 3) and the “first and greatest commandment” described by Jesus as, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (Matthew 22: 37-38)”
